Synopsis
Following Miss Elizabeth Bennet’s refusal of his proposal in Hunsford, Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy returned to London greatly disturbed in mind; angry, hurt, confused, he could neither understand nor accept what had happened. But during a stay on his uncle’s estate, his aunt helped him to finally see the truth, and how much in error he had been throughout. But this knowledge did little to heal his heart, and so he determined it best to get on with his life, and try to forget. A chance meeting, however, set this plan aside, and he found himself once more under her power to charm him. But between him and his goal of winning her lay many miles of travel, the rescue of a family from infamy, knife-wielding footpads, and the recognition that his heart would never be his again.
