Synopsis

Lightning Strikes is a genuine Tom Sawyer intergenerational tale. It is a straight-forward, true to the heart story, set in a small, blue-collar Ohio town in the late 50s-early 60s. It’s the gentler prequel to Lightning Bugs And Aliens, as told through 13-year-old Ben’s eyes. Ben works with his grandfather, his dad, and an older Black man in a tavern they own that’s become a gathering place for the town. When a stranger drives up with money pouring from his pockets, Ben’s life and the lives of his friends in the “colored” settlement change.

This revised 3rd edition also includes two short stories as a bonus offering: The Gas Man, and Two States And A Thousand Miles, along with an excerpt of No More Illusions, a full-length detective novel with thriller and romance elements, featuring Dylan Blake, a somewhat reluctant officer of the law who has love troubles, murder suspect troubles and a dog he doesn't spend nearly enough time with, according to the dog.
