Working with David McGlinchey, his colleague at the Manomet Center for Conservation Sciences, Lloyd-Evans discusses the species highlights, habitat, best times to visit and climate change impacts for each site. For some sites, the book highlights the danger to habitat. For others, it is the migrant birds that are at risk from warming temperatures and a shifting climate. The book features the stunning photography of Ian Davies–from a brilliant Scarlet Tanager in the mountains of Vermont to an American Oystercatcher splashing in the surf on the outer reaches of Cape Cod. All proceeds from the sale of this book will support Manomet's banding research and education programs.

À propos de l?auteur

Trevor Lloyd-Evans has led Manomet’s banding program since 1972. His field experience has taken him throughout the continental U.S., Alaska, Belize, the British Isles, Canada, Ireland, Nigeria, Portugal and Spain. His research is widely published and he holds or has held honorary positions at Nuttall Ornithological Club, Partners in Flight, Massachusetts Avian Records Committee, Association of Field Ornithologists and the North American Banding Council. Trevor is fondly known for his teaching ability and he served on the faculty of the Field Biology Training Program at Manomet from 1977–1984. Since then, he has trained many Manomet interns and volunteers and has taught thousands of school-age children and adults about bird biology and conservation. David McGlinchey is the director of communications at the Manomet Center and was introduced to birding by Trevor Lloyd-Evans and his enthusiastic banding crews. He has written extensively on Manomet’s landbird and shorebird research. David previously worked as Manomet’s senior program leader for Energy and Environment, finding appropriate locations for renewable energy development. David began his career as a journalist in Colorado and Washington, D.C.
