Words are the voice of the heart and language is the single most powerful tool by which the human race has progressed. To speak a language is to know its people and the heritage which the footsteps of history have carved out for them.
As global diversity is woven into our daily lives, the ability to understand other world cultures is becoming essential to the effectual exchange of ideas. This book is an introduction to one of many prominent strands woven into the tapestry of today’s Fabric of Humanity: the Japanese. An easy-to-follow guide, it succinctly explores the hallmarks of their history and culture while teaching the basic alphabets, sound patterns, and initial reading and writing skills necessary to gain an elementary understanding of their language.
From the first page to the last, you’ll find yourself immersed in an informative journey through a variety of engaging hands-on activities pedagogically designed to put you on the path to Japanese literacy. Also included is an address about general foreign language learning in the United States and four appendices of valuable resources for further learning.
No previous language experience is required.
