Synopsis

As winter overtakes Maravilla County, Sheriff Duncan attempts to settle into some form of normal routine after rebuilding his small department. The upgrade of equipment and vehicles, along with the addition of two new deputies, and the promotion of Deputy Buddy Yazzie, is overshadowed by the murder of a young woman. Sargent Yazzie and newly deputized Wade Patterson investigate this very perplexing crime, leading them to suspect an ex-convict, a local businessman, and the leader of a religious community. As the circumstances of the woman’s death are uncovered the number of suspects increases to include one of the Department’s own deputies.
