Quality of functioning of the financial sector has profound impact on the functioning and productivity of all other sectors of the economy thus efficient financial intermediation should be seen as a catalyst for effective allocation of resources and promotion of productive growth in all other areas of the economy. Credit and bank money constitutes bulk of the economy’s aggregate money supply. It is mostly cheques in the volume of bank money or credit rather than changes in total supply of the high – powered money issued by central bank comprising of currency held by public and the cash reserves held by the banks against their deposit liabilities that account for changes in the aggregate money supply. Present book explain the effect of change in technology and the resultant changes in the banking facilities to the customer. It also explains the adaptation of changing facilities by the bank customers and their perception about the banking operations in India. The book is based on the perceptions of bank customers from Western Indian states of Gujarat and Maharashtra.

Dr Waheeda Sheikh has completed her studies from BA to MPhil from Pune University, Pune Maharashtra and Doctoral Studies from Sardar Patel University, Gujarat. She has research and teaching experience in Economics for more than 20 years. Presently she is working as Faulty of Economics at SEMCOM, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat. She has published many research papers in national and international journals. She has also authored three books in Economics.
