From his hillside cabin on the rugged north coast, proud Cornishman Pete Cross' regular ramblings in Cornwall Today magazine have won loyal fans from Saudi Arabia to Canada. And at least three in Trepiddle. Subjects for Pete's acerbic analysis are wildly diverse, ranging from naming Cornish twins to goose husbandry. He suggests an interesting variety of ways to help the incomer to Cornwall feel at home, has a pathological obsession with the Cornish chough, and reaches a surprising conclusion when discussing the quintessential smell of summer. People have often asked if it's possible to read an anthology of his columns, but until now fans have had to resort to back issues of Cornwall Today (often the well-thumbed copies which seem ever present at the dentist or hairdressers). Notes from a Cornish Shed is a bona fide Backalong-fest, the best of Pete's column from over the years, hand-picked by the man himself. With Backalong devotees all over Cornwall and far beyond, Notes from a Cornish Shed will appeal to fans old and new, local and far-from-local.
