Richard was inspired to write the series after his first encounter with a tiger in the wild. He wanted everyone to appreciate these wonderful creatures. Tigers are a keystone species - if tigers thrive so too does the environment around them. But rather than write about the threats they face Richard wanted to write a fun tale that would appeal to chidden of all ages. He stumbled on the Tigeropolis story not long after his first ever tiger sighting.
