Synopsis
Stanley Christopher, a gay man who marries to hide his sexuality in 1950s Cornwall over a fear of being sent to prison, has regrets. His biggest one being the death of his lover, Conrad – at his own instigation. Stanley takes up the story after the events depicted in Sudden Stop, through the trials and tribulations of Stanley’s false marriage and the problems associated with his family, through the changes in his world through the sixties and seventies.
