Jonathan has been researching and writing on Middle Eastern issues since 2003. He first asked why people behave as they do when watching news coverage of airliner hijackings in September 1970. This, his first book, looks at a deeply significant feature of Middle Eastern societies, exploring the effects on Christians, Muslims, other religious communities and society as a whole.
