This collection of Arabic stories, written in the first half of the twentieth century, can be enjoyed as an engaging means of learning Modern Standard Arabic, or simply as they were intended, for the stories themselves. In this volume a cast of fantastical situations and characters from traditional Arab storytelling is blended with situations and plots from the modern age.

The original stories are presented with an English facing translation and notes for learners, the fruit of a collaboration between a British children's author and a Syrian linguist. The stories are suitable for learners at roughly B1 level and above.
