As with Robert's 11+ pack, the selection of papers is superb. What makes them so unique and useful is the extremely thorough explanation of the suggested answers, which really help students to understand how to approach particular types of questions. The explanations and mark schemes of course also aid parents and tutors with marking. The range of texts in the papers is also fantastic and will help students to get used to being prepared to face unexpected challenges in the real examinations, as well as coming into contact with sophisticated vocabulary and unfamiliar language. You receive a generous amount of papers and the quality is unrivalled. I cannot recommend these enough. --Customer Review

As a tutor, like other reviewers, I was very interested in trying these papers as I have used the excellent 11+ set by the same author. These are of the same outstanding quality and are, again, unique as they can be used for preparation for independent schools admissions at earlier levels eg working to 10+ or as a started pack for gradual preparation for 11+. None of the other more familiar competitors really do as, though useful. they are more geared to grammar entrance. The pack contains papers with texts chosen from classic writing, old and new, and answers that explain the thinking behind the marking - no other papers, to my knowledge, have this level of precise and revealing explanation. The question setting reflects the range of questions that a child will meet in the demanding entrance exams for top schools and there are no mistakes of typos - unlike many papers (with the exception of Bond/CGP) by independent authors. I think Robert Lomax's background academically and professionally and his first-hand experience of the exam system gives these papers the edge as they are realistically challenging. The exam entrance papers for schools like City of London Boys and Girls and St Paul's is very tough but these papers, without doubt, provide the best preparation on the market. --Customer Review
