The author - physiotherapist and acupuncturist and holder of a law degree - has 35 years of experience in international health care, having worked in The Netherlands, Germany, Canada and on cruise ships all over the world. After years of dealing with the short comings of the system and the impersonal treatment of patients, he decided to write a new approach of taking care of our health. In this approach the patient is central and motivated to participate actively in his search for health. The patient is a respected customer who searches the -well paid- services of health care practitioners and deserves to be treated as such, with honour and respect. This book is for people who want to be involved, independent and responsible, and above all respected customers of the health care industry. Learn to listen to the signs and symptoms of our body, gain self respect and help control the skyrocketing costs of health care. Being our own doctor is very rewarding and makes us aware of our bodies and how we can contribute to our own health.
