Robertson explains why temp consulting is a completely different job to permanent consulting and answers all the questions you’ve always wanted to ask: • Why do some recruitment companies have thriving, money-spinning, loyalty-inducing, growing temp desks that shield and buffer them from economic downturn, while others simply don’t seem to be able to grow their temp hours to a significant level? • What are the must-have qualities of a successful temp consultant? How do you supercharge your temp hours for financial and business success? • How must temp consultants adapt to stay relevant in the ever-evolving recruitment industry? • How do you add maximum value to your recruitment business when getting it ready for sale? Here is your chance to get a slice of the multi-billion dollar contingent workforce industry by knowing exactly what you need to do to be successful. “The articles Sophie has written about recruitment have helped thousands of recruiters over the years, and I have no doubt this book - the distillation of a quarter-century of industry and training experience – will quickly become a must–read for every temp consultant.” Jo Knox, Managing Editor, Shortlist "I would recommend if you are looking for expertise in running a temp desk then look no further than this essential book by Sophie Robertson FRCSA and the training, she provides.” Steve Granland, CEO, Recruitment and Consultant Services Association

À propos de l'auteur

Sophie Robertson was born to parents from Shanghai, and grew up in Hong Kong, Denmark, Canada and the United States before coming to Australia in 1985. Sophie went to school in Canada, the US and Denmark, where she also attended the University of Copenhagen. Sophie has lived on four continents and speaks English, Danish and Chinese (Shanghai dialect). Since coming to Australia, Sophie has graduated from the Institute of Personnel Consultants, now part of the Recruitment and Consulting Services Association (RCSA). Sophie is a current member of RCSA and holds the designation of Fellow (FRCSA). Sophie has completed her Certificate IV in Life Coaching and is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Coaching (ANZI). Career-wise Sophie has spent 18 years in various positions with recruitment companies. Since 2007 Sophie has been training, coaching and mentoring recruiters and recruitment business owners. A career highlight was when Sophie was promoted from rookie consultant to branch manager of a recruitment agency within 12 months, and went on to run the most profitable branch out of 30 branches nationally. Sophie later joined a boutique recruitment firm and held various roles including business development manager, general manager and business development director. During her recruitment career, Sophie secured many major accounts; some of which are mentioned in this book. She has a special knack of analysing what a client really needs even when the clients are slow to articulate those needs. Sophie believes that communication often happens on two levels; the spoken level and the hidden message behind the words chosen. Sophie's personal motto is: 'It can't hurt to ask'. In other words better to ask and get a 'no' than not opening the door to the possibility of a resounding 'yes'. Sophie was the resident expert on recruiterdaily.com.au from 2008 to 2011, where she contributed over 100 articles on recruitment matters. Her opinions on career coaching have been sought by publications as diverse as the Sydney Morning Herald, Marie Claire and Body and Soul magazine. Sophie sits on the advisory panel of the recruitment company People for Purpose; whose vision is a thriving 'for-purpose' (non-profit) sector where organisations are able to access and develop outstanding leaders and executives, maximising their potential for social impact.
