Not only can Melody decipher the code, but she also knows the language instinctively, speaking it without the effects of her otherwise-crippling speech disorder. Before they know it, Jonathan and Melody are caught in a dangerous struggle. A deadly cult has seized the reins in Lumberwitch, led by a woman with an unholy hunger. While at the bottom of the subterranean lake below the mine lies what could be the secret of a legendary civilization. Between the two, Jonathan hopes to find the key to unlock Melody’s enigmatic past and unravel the mysteries of Lumberwitch—but only if they survive.

Dom Cutrupi loves to write novels in the first person and his personal bio in the third person. A storyteller by day, a video editor by night, he still needs to figure out when to sleep. He spends most of his time sitting in front of a computer, so he reads and eats sushi only when he walks. He has always had an accent: when since he first moved to the north of Italy with a southern accent; to Rome with a northern accent, and then to North America with a very stereotypical Italian accent. After a very random series of events that included publishing his first Italian novel at the age of 22, working for the Vatican City TV Channel, and traveling to the poorest areas of Peru and Mozambique, he ended up in Vancouver, Canada, pursuing a career as a video editor, producer, and writer. The Abyss of Lumberwitch is his first novel in English. The first draft of the book was written in Italian and then, over a period of four years, rewritten multiple times in English. The sequel won't take another four years, he promises.
