Synopsis

Based on Science of Reading research, The Yak Pack Comics is a series of beginner readers that builds foundational literacy skills in boys and girls of a broad age range and abilities.

The entire series includes five early reader phonics comic books and five sight word comic books. These decodable beginner readers can be used as a stand-alone program or with other research-based programs (Tier 1, 2, 3) and are ideal for kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade students, as well as special education students and English Language Learners. Each story is a complete lesson targeting the five pillars of reading (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension) while facilitating daily lesson planning.

The Yak Pack provides a thorough and engaging learning experience, captivating students with dynamic graphics, quirky recurring characters, and fully developed hilarious storylines.

Rumack Resources is the publishing division of Ruth Rumack's Learning Space (RRLS), an educational support company specializing in early literacy. Since 1996, Ruth Rumack and her team have been providing individualized academic and special education support to students in Toronto, Canada. RRLS's approach to teaching through sensory and motor activities that are tailored to specific learning styles is evident in every Rumack Resources product. All products are developed and written by certified teachers with extensive experience in the early reading process. Author Susan Muscovitch is a certified teacher at Ruth Rumack’s Learning Space, with a Masters of Education and qualifications in special education. Susan lives in Toronto with her husband and daughter.
