Synopsis

No matter where I have been assigned as a priest, I have seen my share of pain, loss and sadness. It goes with being “with people” especially when they experience illnesses, tragedies and deaths. During those moments, I have had the privilege of crying and grieving with them. A few of them are included in this book.However, that is just one side of the coin. There have very often been moments when I have had the privilege of laughing with them – sometimes in front of them and even sometimes after the fact. The stories I share in this book are only a few of the many memorable episodes, mostly humorous and sometimes almost unbelievable, that came to mind when I set out to write this book. I can say, in conclusion, that my fifty years of ministry have been a real blessing. I have probably laughed more than I have cried. Sometimes I laughed at my own self and the predicaments in which I found myself. Sometimes I laughed at the comical things people said to me. At other times, I laughed at the odd and unexpected responses I have gotten from others in situations in which we both found ourselves.
