Pablo Escobar has a nuclear weapon. The CIA has to get it back.
In March 1987, a Soviet nuclear device vanishes into the black market.
After a Reagan-Gorbachev treaty leads to the removal of SS-20 missiles from Eastern Europe, a KGB shadow group inside the failing Soviet government steals three nuclear nose-cone assemblies. One is put up for sale. The buyer is the Medellín cartel. The price is forty million dollars.
Pablo Escobar does not blink.
The CIA responds with Operation Acapulco Cold—a desperate mission to recover the weapon before the unthinkable happens. What follows is a dangerous plunge into cartel territory, Soviet betrayal, and a crisis that could alter the balance of power across the hemisphere.
Medellín: Acapulco Cold is a hard-driving military espionage thriller loaded with suspense, action, Cold War intrigue, and a nightmare scenario too real to ignore: a nuclear weapon in the hands of the world’s most notorious drug empire.
