ABOUT US We were born and raised in "Colorful Colorado." Nestled between the Grand Mesa and the San Juan Mountains is a small agricultural town called Olathe, a Shawnee Indian word for "beautiful.” We were surrounded by a loving family who appreciated the outdoors, for us, childhood was definitely a beautiful time. Our mother was a stay-at-home mom who loved caring for us, feeding us homemade meals and helping us with our homework. Our father worked hard in the fields; yielding corn, onion, beans, lettuce. If it was in harvest, our father was working. Our days were spent letting our imaginations run wild, from building our own playhouse to climbing majestic trees; life never had a dull moment. Every year during the holiday season our father would load us all up into his Ford F-150 pickup truck. Off we’d go through the icy cold mountains into the sizzling hot desert of Mexico to our paternal grandparent’s house. We would leave home feeling poor and always return home feeling rich and grateful for the simple things like hot water, a washing machine and electricity. These valuable trips taught us that the world did not revolve around our little hometown, but that there are so many different places to see and people to meet. From a young age we have been in tune with the natural world around us; magnificent mountains, rivers and peaceful plains. We eagerly watched as the seasons unfolded before our very eyes. We learned to appreciate the colors of life. We remember the days when no one had a cell phone, computers were scarce and the internet (what in the WORLD was that?) We love the fact that coloring takes us to that simple time. As women and mothers now in our 30’s the ‘little girl’ in us is very much alive. Our imagination is still running free and our creative energy is now being channeled into a series of coloring books dedicated to the child within. Why coloring books, you may ask? We not only get to collaborate with people from all over the world but we bring some happiness and peace to their day. All of our artwork is freehand and from the heart. We are convinced that, “Art Inspires. Art Heals.” Before we ever printed our first book we knew we wanted to give back. We became members of 1% For The Planet, a non profit that is committed to creating a healthy planet. You can feel good knowing that when you buy a Color Mi Vida coloring book you are giving back to our beautiful planet too.
