Synopsis

The year is 1964, and Emily Lewis, seeking divorce from a controlling husband, goes to Reno for the required six weeks’ stay. She steels herself for long days of lonely tedium among strangers but is pleasantly surprised by the apparent camaraderie of the residents at her hotel, also awaiting their divorce papers. The place is charming, the weather is balmy, and Emily begins to relax. The seeming idyll is shattered by the murder of a new friend. When Inspector Reeves asks her to keep an eye on her fellow guests, Emily unwillingly agrees to help and finds herself drawn into a complex and dangerous web.
