À propos des auteurs

Emiko is an Indonesian and Japanese American writer, actor, dancer who was born in Honolulu, Hawai'i. She is a founding member of Çudamani and served as a cultural consultant for Disney's Raya and the Last Dragon. She has voiced projects for Disney +, documentary films, and numerous commercial projects. She can be heard singing in Kena Bridge of Spirits where she helped develop some core musical themes and is also a featured vocalist in many of Çudamani's recordings. She wanted to write this book after being inspired many times by the quiet of Nyepi in Bali and she wonders what it would be like if the world could have a day of silence every year. She and Dewa feel lucky to be the parents of Ayu and Dodé. Upcoming work will be a book "Lessons from Bunny" based on the wisdom of Kuning (who can be found in Nyepi), a podcast of stories from around the world, and the audiobook of Good to Know about Bali.

Dewa was born and raised in Pengosekan, Ubud, Bali. He is a visual artist and also distinguished composer, teacher, director, and arts activist. He is the founding director of Çudamani, one of Bali's most active and respected performing arts schools. He was a cultural consultant for Disney's Raya and the Last Dragon and co-composer with Jason Gallaty for Kena Bridge of Spirits (Sony Playstation). Dewa grew up drawing with a stick in the dirt under the banyan tree in his village, he and still makes amazing shadow puppets out of banana leaves for his nieces and nephews. His childhood and the wisdom of Balinese culture are the inspiration for this book.
