Dennis Blake OLY is a former Olympian who hails from the picturesque parish of St Elizabeth, Jamaica. As a young boy, Dennis entertained aspirations of becoming an athlete and had his eyes set on the highest achievement an athlete can achieve - to make it to the Olympics. Coming from humble beginnings, it wasn’t easy to achieve the Olympic dream. However, Blake had one thing on his side, and he knew that if he could harness that, his dream could be a reality.
Blake was fast! He was always the fastest on the track on the primary school sports day. It was this speed that propelled Blake from dreaming to turning that dream into a reality and achieving even more than he had dreamed possible. Blake competed at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, and won silver in the 4x400 meter relay at the 1995 Pan American Games in Mar del Plata, Argentina. Blake earned the bronze medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics Games in Atlanta, Georgia, in the 4x400 meter relay.
Blake’s journey from humble beginnings to the top of track and field is an inspiration to all. It stands as a reminder that anything is achievable with hard work and belief in oneself
