With her family reunited, Angelique Chauvin Slater is filled with joyful anticipation of their future together. But unfortunately, happiness can be short-lived. As the war rages on, pitting brother against brother, it brings with it new challenges. And once again, Angelique must tap into her strength and resolve as she finds creative ways to ensure their survival. The conflict provides a temporary distraction from a more sinister threat, however, one who has been in her life since her coquettish days as the toast of Southern society. And she intends to eliminate him by any means possible. America may have ultimately become a unified nation after Lee’s surrender, but Angelique is still fighting a battle, one she plans to win. For she knows with absolute certainty that only then will she find true peace for her restless soul. Angelique’s Peace spans a period of fifteen years and brings the series to a dramatic conclusion.
