Synopsis

Two little boys were born on the same day, within the same hour, and on opposite sides of the world. Both were abused as children. Both were diagnosed with mental disorders at a very young age. Both carried the psychological counselling first started in their youth into their adult lives, and both are forever marked by the invisible scars inflicted upon them by their parents. But that's where the similarities end.

One of the little boys grew up to become a decorated police officer, raising a family and doing everything within his control to suppress the hurt just to get through the day. The other little boy, while reaching the pinnacle of academic achievement by completing his Ph.D. in psychology, grew up to be a psychopathic killer with a penchant for murdering women.

Lipstick in the Basement is a psychological thriller that grabs your attention from the very beginning and refuses to let go, putting on center stage the thinking of two individuals who cannot escape their calamitous upbringing or each other once their lives become entangled.

A propos du livre

À propos de l'auteur

B. Bernard Ferguson began writing at a very young age as a means of mentally escaping the chaotic world of real crime. After retiring with more than twenty years as a federal agent, Bernard used his experience in violent crimes gained through both growing up and working in the streets of Los Angeles, combined with his love of expression through art and literature to write his books. A Southern California native, Bernard now lives with his wife Diane in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is the author of Where's The EQ?: Race and Policing Up Close, where he used his doctoral research in the field of emotional intelligence, in deconstructing some of the most controversial engagements between police officers and civilians of our time, as well as presenting a path forward toward mending those relationships. When he is not writing mystery thriller novels, Bernard is busy traveling around the country conducting writing research and visiting every winery he happens to stumble across along the way.
