Synopsis
Jason Roberts, wounded on a mission for the president, is convalescing at his father’s home. Life in central North Carolina is peaceful and calm. Maybe even a little boring. Then an unknown virus surfaces. It spreads through the air, contact or ingestion. In the space of three weeks, humankind is on the verge of extinction. No one is safe. Nine out of ten people exposed to the virus mutate, losing their ability to communicate and reason. Their metabolism sky-rockets. They grow incredibly strong, animal fast, and extremely violent. Across the globe, cities fall to the onslaught. Jason, his dad and sister are among the ten percent immune to the virus. The Extinction Saga chronicles the Roberts family’s desperate attempt not only to survive, but also to rescue other survivors. Along the way, they are forced to combat the infected… and even other survivors.

À propos de l'auteur
H.V. Purvis was born and reared in central North Carolina where he inherited his love of books and reading from his mother, who carried a book with her most everywhere she went. A former schoolteacher and semi-retired businessman, he now focuses his talents on writing. He enjoys bringing his stories to life through well-defined and multi-dimensional characters. Contagion takes place in a rural area similar to where Purvis grew up. In writing this series, Purvis called upon his knowledge of country people horses, guns and rural life to create a setting that is interesting and true to country living. He and his wife, Ally, live on a small ranch adjoining forty-three thousand acres of North Carolina State Wildlife Preserve. They have horses, honeybees, Guinea hens, chickens, a dairy goat, cows, a faithful German Shepherd and an affectionate cat.
