Raven Chronicles Journal Vol. 23, celebrates the twentieth year of the Jack Straw Writers Program in Seattle, Washington. The Jack Straw Writers Program was created to introduce Pacific Northwest writers to the medium of recorded audio, to develop their presentation skills for both live and recorded readings, to encourage the creation of new literary work, and to build community among writers. Each year an invited curator selects twelve writers from a large pool of applicants. This book features new work from 40 writers, along with introductions by 20 curators. Curators include: Rebecca Brown, Charles Mudede, Nancy Rawles, Peter Pereira, Matt Briggs, Donna Miscolta, Susan Rich, and Shawn Wong, among others. Writers include: Deborah Woodard, Don Mei Choi, Kathleen Flenniken, David Schmader, John Burgess, Doug Nufer, Wendy Call, Claudia Castro Luna, and Maliha Masood, among others.
