Synopsis

This genealogy traces the descendants of Christian Roop through eight generations. This genealogy follows on the publication of The Maryland Descendants of Christian Rupp, 1732-1810, which traced the descendants of five children who moved from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to what is now Carroll County, Maryland. Those children were Joseph, Christian, David, John, and Anna. While there is value in a "who begat whom" genealogy, much of the character of the people and the color of events that shaped their lives was lost by the necessity of deleting personal notes. This volume focuses on the descendants of Christian's third son and namesake, returning character and color to this particular line. We anticipate the publication of two additional books, one that traces the descendants of Joseph and David and one that tracks the descendants of the two siblings that married Royers -- John and Anna.
