Before writing her first book, Shauna L'Nae found herself behind a desk, answering calls for the city's rat hotline. It was one of many odd jobs she had worked over the years. At a time when meeting her career goals seemed dim, she awakened a past passion, writing. Writing would help her to declare self-expression, motivate her to reach targets, and create obsession of a career change. Shauna graduated high school from George Washington Carver HS of Engineering and Science (Philadelphia, Pa), in 2004. One year later she found herself dropping out of college at Delaware State University, and returning home unemployed. After years of dead end jobs, she was hired by Verizon Wireless as a sales representative. In 2010, she was terminated and placed herself on unemployment earnings, taking the time off to find herself. In the meantime, she worked small side jobs as a hair stylist, self-taught makeup artist, and adult toy demo representative. She also enrolled at the Art Institute of Philadelphia, for Fashion Design. In the end, she found herself... pregnant! After giving birth to her son in September 2012, Shauna felt revived, and with a new purpose in life, she began to challenge herself and chase her dreams. The next year she gained employment with the Philadelphia Health Department. She then graduated with an A.A.S. in Fashion Design, in 2013. The next few years were dedicated to her son and launching her fashion career. Completing her first book, It's Time to Say Fuck It & Other Four Letter Words, came as a shocker to her. Initially she began writing as a way to recycle energy she felt was being wasted from day to day. Shauna was thrilled when she received the first published copy of her book, just like a kid in a candy store. Shauna was more fearless than ever before, strong and committed, and made herself a promise to chase after her dreams, all one million of them.
