Angel In The Outhouse is a collection of short stories about the ordinary life of an African American family during the extraordinarily tumultuous time of the Civil Rights Movement. This is the oft-forgotten tale of America - the common frailties, quiet triumphs, and fierce determination of a people to stand firm against the life-changing tragedies placed in their path every day.

À propos de l'auteur
Kathya Alexander is a writer, actor, storyteller, and teaching artist. She is an Arts Projects awardee from 4Culture Seattle and was granted the City Artist Award, Youth Arts Award, and the Work Readiness Arts Program Award from the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture. She was a writer-in-residence at the prestigious Hedgebrook Women Writer’s Retreat and won the Fringe First Award for Outstanding New Production for Black to My Roots: African American Tales from the Head and the Heart at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her writing has appeared in Colors NW Magazine and Raising Lily Ledbetter: Women Artists Occupy the Workplace by Lost Horse Press. Among her writings are God the Mother: A Creation Story; and the God the Mother Calendar. She lives in Seattle where she is a member of the Creative Advantage Arts Partners Roster, the African American Writers Alliance, and the Seattle Storytellers Guild. She tells stories at the Madison Park Starbucks on the last Thursday of each month as part of Aunt Mama’s Story Table.
