Synopsis

Six years ago, Johnny "The Kid" Whelan blew his chance to fight for a championship. Now, controlled by a Philadelphia mobster he's been regulated to fighting in no-name bouts in small out-of-the-way towns. When a fighter in a highly publicized match is injured, Johnny is chosen to take his place. Although, he's no longer the up-and- comer he was before, the well-traveled and somewhat battered boxer returns to Milwaukee knowing the fight could be his ticket back into big-time boxing. From the moment he arrives in town, he is faced with life threatening decisions. A medical diagnosis and his owner's sinister plan could end his boxing career. An old acquaintance with a shocking revelation further complicates his life, and cast doubt on whether it's wise for him to even get into the ring.
