Synopsis

Cancer Looks Good on You is the most uplifting cancer story you will ever read, because it is about a man who chooses to seize the day, not count how many days he has left. From his youth as a tormented gay boy in the Deep South to his rise to the top of the design world, and from discovering a lump in his neck to planning his after-party, Barclay tackles life's challenges with grace, humor, and indomitable optimism. Cancer Looks Good on You shares wisdom that will help you make over your house, your attitude, and your view of the end. This book is for everybody but is a must-read for anyone struggling with illness or yearning to know how to support someone who is.

À propos des auteurs

Barclay Fryery is a renowned interior designer, TV personality, writer, and lifestyle coach. His work has been featured in Elle Decor and House Beautiful; on House Wars, the Style Network, and A&E; and his "Ask Barclay" column appeared in the Greenwich Post for 10 years. Over the last two years, Barclay has blogged about his cancer journey on Facebook and spread his philosophy of facing illness with grace and style. He promotes inclusivity and teaches his friends and fans to seize every day, no matter what challenges life presents. Barclay lives in Meridian, Mississippi, in a tidy apartment with his cat, Princess Royale. He enjoys classical music, art, theatre, lattes, and composing silly voice-mail songs.

Jill Johnson is a freelance writer, founder of Modelingmentor.com/blog, and former editor-in-chief of Tear Sheet magazine, which she launched during her decade-long career as a fashion model. She has interviewed fashion icons (Lauren Hutton, Patrick Demarchelier, Heidi Klum, John Sahag, among many others), TV journalists (Lara Spencer, Scott Pelley), and Broadway's best. She has covered all things catwalk and heavier topics, including infertility, eating disorders, autism, and education reform. She hopes to wrap up her modeling memoir soon, if she can get some time off from her part-time gig as her kids' chauffeur and laundress. Jill lives in Connecticut with her husband and four children, in a messy house by the beach. In her free time, she loves theatre, belly dancing (yes, you read that correctly), tap dancing, yoga, skiing, and horse riding.
