A posthumously published novel by Anna Hernandez Nordell, written circa 1980, centers around two main characters: Hannah Ellen Kroeger, born of an upper elite family in the Lexington, Kentucky area, and Conner Burt O'Kelley, coming from a rural, subsistence level of society. But each is more than their family heritage would suggest — much more! He, a man of vision and determined will to manifest his dreams, and she, discovering her inner strengths and abilities to share in that destiny and raise a family through their deep love and commitment to one another. Our frankly-told story takes us on their journey from about 1915 through the latter 1960s and is conveyed from the various perspectives of its many colorful players — family and friends, their virtues and foibles.
