Synopsis
The second in a series, Sideline Ink: Book Two takes middle grade readers on the adventure of a young girl determined not only to help her family and friends survive, but to help them thrive. Readers of the series will enjoy the grit of Sideline as she continues to build her secret fortune to help her struggling parents as well as her group of friends from all walks of life. It’s the beginning of 6th grade at Elyria Heights Elementary School, and almost everyone thinks Emma “Sideline” Rockland is as poor as she looks. But appearances can be deceiving. Sideline has just had the summer of her life, starting successful businesses that are secretly making her $10,000 per month. The question is: how long she can keep her secret from her irresponsible parents, even as she builds a bigger empire.The novel is written with an eye towards helping young people understand the importance of having and developing financial literacy. The adventures and decisions of Sideline, the 12 year old female protagonist, helps readers also understand the value of collaboration as well as the importance of mentors and role models in a child's life.
