Meagan Winston loves working at Rahab's Rope in Gainesville, Georgia, selling jewelry and other creative items made by rescued trafficked women in India. On each of her journeys to Mumbai the past few years, however, drugs have also made the trip, and she is the only connection the FBI can find.
When bulky former Marine Cole Fleming enters her shop demanding answers, Meagan at first refuses but eventually is taken in for questioning. Can Meagan trust her own heart as Cole discovers and begins to track a possible stalker, or is Cole the man secretly following her?

Reader's Favorite 5-Star Review
The Shadow: Someone is Watching by Kimberly Rae caught me by surprise in the best way, and didn’t let up until after I had read the last page ... Meagan has just returned from her missionary trip to India. Soon after she returns home, she finds herself caught up in a frightening crisis of her own. Enter Cole Flemming, the mysterious stranger who claims to work for the FBI, yet clearly has secrets of his own, and something about his story isn’t adding up. When things take a dangerous turn, and lives are placed on the line, Meagan must decide who she can trust and how to defend the ministry and people she cares for above all.
The story has the perfect balance of an intense mystery, edgy suspense, and a sweet, slow-burning romance that made The Shadow by Kimberly Rae one of my favorite reads of the year. I loved getting to know Meagan and Cole, but I admit it was her friends who really made the story feel like home. Their love and compassion for Meagan and for the work they did with Rahab's Rope were truly admirable. I adored the wit and humor that surrounded them when they got together, along with her loving grandfather. There are some heavy topics discussed, and these characters come with a past of their own. Rahab's Rope, the inspiration for the series' name, is a real organization that seeks to do the very work Meagan and her friends are seen doing in the book. Rae handles the difficult subject with tact and compassion, and delivers a powerful story of hope, healing, love, and support for those facing these hard choices. I loved how Rae masterfully wove several plot lines into one powerful story.

Reader Praise for The Shadow
I loved it. Very suspenseful. Loved that there wasn't foul language and graphic sex. I will definitely recommend it to friends. - Lynn
...brilliantly written, quite professional, and has an intriguing plot which holds its reader captive. - Jeanie
I absolutely loved The Shadow! Kimberly Rae is one of my favorite authors, and this is one of her best! It's captivating from the very beginning, and hard to put down. Meagan is just back from India after working with a group that rescues women in brothels, trafficked victims who've been sold against their will. But now she is being carefully watched and accused of an international crime! It will intrigue you with its mystery, suspense, romance, humor, and faith in God. The characters are all so realistic and interesting; this book kept my attention all the way through. Rae always handles the subject of human trafficking appropriately - she makes you think seriously about the stark reality of this illicit crime that's going on all around us, without putting your mind in the gutter. Her life-changing books are always clean and Christ-centered, and leave you with a feeling of hope. I highly recommend this book. - Sue
I was terrified from the very first page. I couldn't put this book down! It has it all: two love stories, parallel missions, and justice--mixed with lunatic danger and a drug investigation. I loved Shadow! - Lou Ann

Award-winning, Amazon bestselling author of 20 books, Kimberly Rae loves to write stories full of romance, suspense, and making a difference. She has been published over 200 times and has work in 5 languages. Rae lived in Bangladesh, Uganda, Kosovo and Indonesia. She rafted the Nile River, hiked in the hills around Mount Everest, and tried cow brains just to say she'd done it! She now lives in North Carolina at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains with her husband and two young children. Rae's 3 books in her STOLEN SERIES on human trafficking (Stolen Woman, Stolen Child, Stolen Future) all are Amazon Bestsellers. Since the release of her trilogy on human trafficking, Rae has become a sought-after speaker and trainer on the topic. Recognizing the lack of books about slavery and trafficking that focus on those who are making a difference rather than glorifying the evil or being overly graphic or despairing, she has also since created a series on modern day slavery for teens and pre-teens (Capturing Jasmina, Buying Samir, and Seeking Mother), and recently completed a resource for adults to help train children to recognize and avoid childhood sexual abuse (I AM SAFE), a major risk factor in childhood and adult exploitation. Printable handouts and other resources, as well as autographed books, are available on her website, www.kimberlyrae.com. "People out there care and want to make a difference," Rae says. "I love getting to help them do that."
