The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from and where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit. John 3:8 ESV
In his third year at Mt. Zion Bible College Tom thought he was on his way to serving God as a hometown pastor. When Congress passes legislation outlawing hate crime literature, a Task Force is created that strips a small number of verses from the Bible, issuing government approved editions. Tom’s Bible college closes and he goes back home, not knowing his uncle, Alex Hutton, had seeded the country with preserved Bibles.
Task Force agents arrest him, seeking information on Hutton Bibles and the growing underground church. Tom’s faith and trust in God is put to the test during his five years in federal prisons and after release, living as a convicted felon in Wichita, Kansas.
Can he live his faith in USP Hannibal, a maximum security federal prison? Can he accept this is God’s will for his life? Can he see God work through him no matter where he is with joy and thanksgiving?
The Task Force agents are ordered to read the Bible and learn of the Christian faith to pursue resistant Christians. Just as the witness of jailed pastors brings many to faith, the lives of the agents are also changed—some to faith and others with hardened resolve to bring the church into the 21st century.
