Il a notamment établi la correspondance complète des Illuminés de Bavière (Die Korrespondenz des Illuminatenordens, 2 vol, 2005), est membre du Centre de recherche Gotha à l’université d’Erfurt et chercheur rattaché à l’université d’Innsbruck (Autriche). L Duvoy, philosophe, traducteur spécialisé en philosophie moderne allemande (Nietzsche, Herder, Lessing, Weishaupt, Benjamin), a notamment publié, aux éditions Dervy, une édition intégrale des Causeries pour Francs-maçons de Lessing.
