Hardcover. Etat : new. Hardcover. "Essentials of Plane and Solid Geometry" is a comprehensive and structured exploration of the fundamental principles of geometry. Designed to provide a rigorous yet accessible foundation for students and educators, this work covers the essential theorems and proofs of plane geometry, including the properties of lines, angles, triangles, and circles, before transitioning into the complexities of three-dimensional space. In the section on plane geometry, the work emphasizes logical deduction and the systematic development of geometric concepts. It guides the reader through the construction of geometric figures and the derivation of areas and proportions. Moving into solid geometry, the text explores the relationships of lines and planes in space, the properties of polyhedrons, and the measurement of cylinders, cones, and spheres.Written by the distinguished mathematician David Eugene Smith, "Essentials of Plane and Solid Geometry" remains a significant resource in the history of mathematics education. Its clear explanations, numerous exercises, and logical progression make it an invaluable tool for understanding the spatial relationships that form the basis of mathematical thought. This work is ideal for those seeking a classical approach to one of the oldest and most vital branches of mathematics. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
