À propos de l'auteur
Francesco Orsi is Associate Professor in Theoretical Ethics at the University of Tartu, Estonia. He has published on value theory, reasons, moral psychology, and the history of ethics. He is the author of Value Theory (2015) and The Guise of the Good: A Philosophical History (2023).

Each of the eight chapters shows how the guise of the good was understood, revised, sometimes defended, sometimes attacked, by philosophers such as Hobbes, Spinoza, Locke, Leibniz, Hume, Kant, J. S. Mill, and Sidgwick. In some cases, the volume features the first-ever dedicated treatment of an authors take on the guise of the good.
