Kim was utterly exhausted with life: the relentless cycle of bills, the suffocating reality that everything seemed bleak. The drudgery of work, the constant battle with her overdraft, and the irony of owning a house yet feeling imprisoned within its walls due to financial constraints weighed heavily on her. It all felt overwhelmingly bleak.
Nothing could compare to the freedom and joy she experienced in her 20s, travelling the world with ample funds at her disposal. Now, trapped in a deep pit of despair, she found herself fantasizing about escape through darker means. However, her monotonous existence was suddenly interrupted by the entrance of a captivating stranger: a six-foot-tall, blue-eyed individual whose charm and unpredictable nature brought a much-needed spark into her life. Yet, what began as a thrilling distraction quickly spiralled into a complex web of emotional turmoil, proving to be more than Kim could handle.

Kim Handley had her first stint in the working world at 16 working at an office and did not like it one bit. She soon realised that her life would be full of depression if she settled down and chose the 'Groundhog Day' life living as a robot in the social norms.
She took off at 17 to travel the world, became a dancer, studied another language and at 31 she finally admitted defeat and reluctantly settled down in a job and started living in the rat race. Here is where she found the true excruciating pain of boredom and so started to seek escapism by writing. She wanted to write a book whilst she was going through a journey, in order to express her angry emotions and so created a fictional book based on true events.
