Leaving school at fifteen and a half, Jill Nutbeem attended a technical college to undertake a two and half year pre nursing course before commencing nurse training at the age of eighteen. Qualifying at twenty-one years old, she worked at her training hospital of Chelmsford and Essex for two years prior to marriage and two children later and family responsibilities. Always interested in writing, her first five poetry books weren't published until she had grandchildren in 2007. Her first novel, East African Dreams, was published in 2019.
