Life is a journey where we gather experiences, discover the depths of love, and ultimately face the searing pain of parting - whether through death, overwhelming grief, or the surreal void left by those we've lost. The absence of a spouse, a partner, a child, once so present, now gone, creates a chasm we struggle to comprehend.
The poems in this collection reflect the author's observations on the human condition, capturing the profound joy of love and the deep ache of loss that inevitably follows. While deeply personal, these poems are meant to resonate universally with anyone who has lived, loved, and grieved. They offer a mirror to life's highs and lows, holding moments of humour, joy, and sorrow, and ultimately honouring a life well lived.

David Fettes has had a varied career and life, the large part of which was running his own company with partners as an insurance broker. Retiring early from business, he became a commercial wildlife photographer, which he combined with his passion for travel. Having previously written three books, he turned to poetry to share and express his lifelong experiences.
