Synopsis

Saoirse Welland is young, not yet thirty years old and yet she has overcome so much in her young life.

This is her story. Painful to read, harder to live, but she has lived it and continues daily to build a better life from the tragedy already endured.

Saoirse appreciates the power in sharing her experience with fellow alcoholics and anorexics. Through shared experience she has learnt the power of perspective, and that she, in fact, isn’t alone.

This memoir explores the trauma Saoirse endured that ultimately led her to starve and drink herself nearly to death. An honest account of how active addiction dictated her life for over 10 years, how it led to institutions and sordid places. At the tender age of 26 she discovered sobriety following her last rock bottom. To mark her third year sober, she shares her story in hope it will resonate with one person.
