Rene Oostewechel is a semi-retired tropical agricultural engineer, living partly in Holland but mostly in Spain on an off-grid farm, harvesting and storing his own rainwater for domestic use and watering old olive trees on terraces. During his professional life, he worked on all continents, mostly in rural areas.

Hee-Hee on the Farm was originally written as a bedtime storybookfor his three daughters when they were little.
