From one of only a handful of human colonies on Mars, Joel Jones stares at the bluish star that was once his home. World War III left Earth a devastated wasteland and eradicated its population, leaving only those humans that fled to Mars remaining. But Joel, together with the brilliant scientist Carole Ibrahim, rather than despair any longer on the empty Earth or the barren landscape of Mars, finds hope in the stars. They devise a plot to use the starship Quest to transport sustainable crops, animals, and, using cryogenics, people to a new Earth-like planet. Hand in hand, Joel and Carole lead their fellow voyagers into the far reaches of space, unsure what-or who-may await them and their descendants on the new planet they hope to call home. Thus begins a multi-millennia journey toward a future that cannot afford to repeat the mistakes of the past, one that leads to encounters with the Neptians, Qhan, and the most fiendish weapon the galaxy has ever known. In this sixth volume of the Devistor series, readers old and new will be enthralled by the inventive and carefully detailed approach characteristic of John M. Jefferson's science fiction universe. But Wanderers Through Space and Time offers even more than compelling societies and characters, human and alien-it boldly envisions a sustainable and peaceful world, asking questions as relevant to New Earth as the readers' own world.

John M. Jefferson lives in Madras, Oregon. A computer programmer for thirty-nine years with a master's degree in math, John has long been an avid reader of science fiction works like those of Ursula K. Le Guin and has been writing since elementary school, even briefly studying English literature at university. These influences led to the Devistor series, now six books distinct in narrative but unified in their technical detail and intellectual curiosity.
When not writing or pondering the place of humans among the stars, John monitors his FM radio for distinct stations in the company of his three cats, including the irresistible fifteen-pound purr machine Biggs.
