Synopsis

Lyssa's story might have ended before it even began. Facing certain death in a high-kill shelter in the Mojave Desert, against all odds she found her people in the world under the wide-open prairie skies of Saskatchewan and in the scenic river valleys of Alberta. Her transformation from an ordinary dog to an extraordinary companion wasn't always easy. There were many ups and downs, with lessons to be learned for both Lyssa and her humans. Along the way came frustration and laughter, heartache and joy, and discovering what it truly means to show up for each other. Step by step, they learned to face challenges together. This is the story of a remarkable dog who learned to trust again, and in doing so, changed the hearts and minds of everyone who loved her. If you have ever loved a dog like family, Lyssa's Story is a reminder of second chances, unconditional love and the unshakable bond between dogs and their humans. Her lessons, and love, live on in every page.
