Synopsis
Walking Home, Omar Khan’s new memoir following Sawdust Castles, pays tribute to the power of family, relationships, and the idea of home.
Starting his life in Lahore as a young adult in the area of performing arts, Khan abandoned an artistic career due to familial pressure in favour of a career in banking. This is the beginning of a global and personal journey. As the fortunes of the bank rise, so does his career. Khan attempts to balance his taxing role, while desperately maintaining the equilibrium between his aging parents, an ailing sister, and a growing family.
When the institution he spent seventeen years of his life is brought down by the complex international politics of the time, Khan succumbs to a period of protracted anguish. He weathers his internal storm through his indefatigable courage and the unshakeable support and resiliency of his wife Fauzia and his children.

À propos de l'auteur
Omar Khan was born in Bareilly, India in 1946 and migrated to Pakistan in 1947 during the Partition of the Indian Subcontinent. After completing a Master's degree in English Literature from Government College, Lahore, he dabbled in the performing arts but soon transitioned into the international banking industry. His more than forty year career as a senior executive took him to live and work around the world. He and his wife Fauzia reside mostly in Toronto. Married for 53 years, they are the proud parents of 3 children and two grandchildren.
