Persephone was never destined for an ordinary life as a goddess raised by and among mortals.
She’s always been content to ignore the things that set her apart from others—like the way plants seem to bend toward her touch or how, on occasion, the rustle of a tree’s leaves sound a bit too much like distinguishable whispers. She believes herself to be cursed, not gifted.
Persephone’s life changes one spring evening when she finds herself alone with a stranger than seems to know her more intimately than she knows herself. Worse, it’s another god. The encounter leaves her unsettled, but she’s determined to stay in control of her carefully built life.
But all control is lost when the god returns days later.
This time, he’s come to take her.
Hades is no cruel captor, even as the widely feared God of the Dead. He insists her abduction is vital to his kingdom and her safety, assuring her that it’s only temporary. Persephone finds it impossible to trust his word, or the way his presence evokes something within her that she doesn’t understand. As their lives become entangled, Persephone tests the boundaries of her confinement to the Underworld, and she soon realizes the greatest threat may not be hades at all.
But rather, what—or who—brought them together.
Pollen and Pomegranates is the first book in a romantasy novella series based on Greek Mythology. It is intended for audiences ages 18+.
