Synopsis

A luminous fable about freedom, faith, and the fragile space between hope and delusion.

Inside the fluorescent quiet of an airport terminal, two birds circle above the departures lounge-one trapped by reason, the other lifted by faith. Kier has surrendered to despair, convinced that freedom is an illusion. Aspen, radiant and tireless, loops through filtered sunlight, believing her movements inspire the travelers below.

Their encounters unfold as a meditation on optimism, belief, and meaning-a dialogue between hope and doubt, devotion and defiance. Through spare, poetic prose, Mike Salisbury transforms existential philosophy into living myth, revealing optimism as the most radical act of all.

Dreaming of the Sky blends philosophy and fable with graceful storytelling to explore what remains when faith outlives evidence. This illustrated work of Canadian literary fiction invites readers to inhabit uncertainty with grace and to rediscover belief as a form of creative courage.

Perfect for readers of philosophical fiction, modern allegory, and literary works of hope and transformation.
