Rayne Fields, a virologist working on a universal flu vaccine unwittingly time travels to 1890 by the strength of a Victorian widow's broken heart. Eleanora Anderson wishes more than anything that she could have saved her husband Fletcher from succumbing to the Russian flu pandemic. Rayne's spirit inhabits Eleanora's body during the months prior to the outbreak in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. Fletcher senses his bride is not the same since she came back from a trip. When he finds out the truth, he has to come to terms with the deal his widow made to save his life. The question is, will Rayne stay and try to save him in a time when women had few rights and would never have had a man's job, and when medical science was still fraught with old wives' tales? Maybe her heart will help her decide.
Step into the 1890s in Tyrone in the Kentucky River Palisades, just a few miles from the Bluegrass town of Lawrenceburg, Ky, where distilleries were plentiful and the bourbon barons made their fortunes. Youngs Highbridge just been completed and steam engines made the world a little smaller.
