Synopsis

What if you were persecuted for something you witnessed? Red is the story of three individuals with just such an experience. Harry Bennett, Phillip Mason, and Patricia Halloway each begin to see visions of masks worn by people with the same problems they themselves face: alcoholism, depression, and disordered eating. While no one at first believes what they see, more people witness these and other signs that signal something is wrong: signs in the sky and visions of a red, volcanic landscape with armies pitched in warfare. Those who experience these visions call themselves heralds, but those fearful of the kind of world they describe name them dreamers. What begins as an effort to silence the dreamers becomes something much more sinister. Still, it is when these trials are at their worst that dreamers witness the next step in the visions, something--someone--for which no one is prepared. In Red, all men will find the truth behind the signs the dreamers see, and the fate of a world descended into chaos.
